R.C. Vance writes dark-romance noir interactive fiction.
The OBSESSION Series is a multi-title interactive-fiction universe published by Red Circle Corp. Title 1, OBSESSION: Choices & Consequences, launches on iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS on July 16, 2026.
156 scene nodes across 18 chapters, a Prologue, and an Epilogue. Three paths. Six endings. One franchise cliffhanger. A single playthrough runs from ~28,000 words (the base read on the shortest path) up to ~77,000 (a fully-unlocked read on the longest). Approximately 158,000 words of branching prose across the title. Every choice has weight; many are permanent.
The series is developed with Anthropic-assisted, art-directed visual canon. The visual references are Roger Deakins, Darius Khondji, and Reed Morano — with a different approach to warm-against-cold, restraint over spectacle.
The narrative discipline is observation-first, ledger-first, no externalised grief. The romance is restraint as ignition, not lurid as default. The protagonist watches what most people experience. She does not decide quickly. She does not stop watching. She keeps the file open longer than anyone else thinks she should.
Title 2, The Observer's Game, and Title 3, Sloane's Casebook — a prequel novella collection — are in development.
R.C. Vance reads slowly, takes long notes, and does not decide quickly.
